Behind the Scenes of "The Sal Show"

This project seems like a simple thing to design because it is about yourself but in fact, that makes it more difficult. How do you portray yourself to others honestly and creatively? What makes you stand out and how will others know this is about you? The way to go about this is to pick the most important aspect of your life and base it off that. What do people know you for? Taking that into consideration will help streamline ideas and develop your design. Even though there is not one thing that defines a person, using one aspect of life as opposed to many will give a better understanding of who someone is. Having multiple ideas will confuse the message and will not create a cohesive design. The idea behind this postcard was performance. It is quite obvious that this postcard has to do with someone who has ties to the theatre and performing. This is evident in the curtain background. This person has been or has worked on stage before. It is also obvious with the element of the

Resume Project This resume does not just tell people about Salvatore's experience but also his personality. You can tell he is fun and light-hearted attitude but is also serious. This resume will stand out in a stack of resumes due to its originality and creativity. Flyer Project The flyer above takes a new and different approach to get people to learn about Planned Parenthood. Instead of people protesting about what they do, it flips the "protesting" against the protestors, to get them and others to learn about PP. Doing this in a light-hearted way is smart due to the serious topics and issues PP deals with. Brochure Project The overall theme of the layout is cohesive with all its elements as well as the point of the brochure. Desserts are fun and adorable foods, and the brochure shows that in the design. The bright colors resemble the desserts and make this brochure stand out and eye-catching. It's All In The Details

The BIG Snake of Publishing The layout on the left page has three even columns and 3 irregular grids. The article is in the bottom section of columns two and three. Having the photo on the right page is a strong choice because it makes the photo feel like it is in the article. If the pages were switched the photo could seem like a random photo on one page and then an article on the next page. The “S” in “Siren” is too big for the layout. The bottom of it goes off the page. If the full letter stayed on the page it would look cleaner. Also, it goes into the second column. This is not a big deal, but again the design would be cleaner if the second column was aligned all the way left and not aligned to the “S”. With the “S” being so big it can belong to any word it is next to. However, its font matches the rest of the title and the top of the “S” is also the top of the “i”. This provides more clarity to what the “S” belongs to. The one good thing the “S” provides is that it will g

Logos, A Window to the Company

“Communication is key,” a quote said in almost every classroom, workplace and relationship. The various types of communication are important but they vary between people in what is preferred. Different people and brands try to communicate to people what they are about. Visual communication is one of the strongest forms of communicating. Young kids learn how to walk by watching others walk. Then they begin to try for themselves. It is the same kind of process that dancers use when learning choreography. A choreographer can say the steps but showing a step is more effective. While people respond to different things based on what they feel is important or on what they find the  most compelling, the elements of visual communication are used for different things.  However, there aresome that are more important to visually communicate something.  Color is the most important.Color is what pops off the page, a colored picture  will grab attention more than a
